REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SERVICES

The Victor Fire Department, Inc. is currently seeking a firm/individual for limited-scope structural engineering services with experience dealing with historic structures. The focus of the work is our 1910 memorial station located at 5 West Main Street in the Village of Victor.

Interested and qualified organizations or individuals are invited to submit proposals, which will be accepted until August 3, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Proposals should be addressed to:

Background
Victor Fire Department, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that owns the original firehouse built in the Village of Victor. The building was constructed in 1910.

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
All responses to this Request for Proposals shall, at a minimum, include the following:
Scope of services and approach and methodology for accomplishing the scope of services
Proposed project schedule
Firm’s expertise and experience
Name(s) and resumes of key personnel to be involved in the project
Total cost (not-to-exceed price) and payment schedule.

Scope of Work
Recommendations – for repair/replacement/restorations/maintenance treatments for the structure’s materials, finishes, features; for projects to bring the structure into a state of functional utility with associated scope-of-work descriptions. Recommendations must consider the potential impact of recommended treatments and avoid significantly altering the property’s historic character.

Estimate of Repair Cost – Prepare an estimate of costs associated with repairing the structure.

Provide a Conditions Assessment Report including:
Summary description of the structure’s existing condition.
Detailed existing condition description of the individual exterior material components including foundation, brick, windows, doors, trim, roof, etc.

Summary description and evaluation of the structure’s building systems: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, etc.
As applicable, reference to supplemental technical reports.
